Energy Rod
Features of the Energy Rod:
This is the first of our product line to be released with a built in re-chargeable battery system. Run times on a single charge over 12 hrs.
- The sensors monitor surrounding EM and Static energy fields and light up corresponding to the intensity of the energy measured.
- Portable – 3 piece unit – Easy to disassemble and transport and light at only 3.5 ounces.
- Re-chargeable battery with the included USB to USB Mini Cable. (The 4 pack comes with 4 cables).
- Free standing base.
- Simple to operate with the on/off switch on the top of the unit.

The following video shows the energy detectors activated by moving a hand over the sensors.
Dimensions of the Energy Rod:
The energy rod is 13 inches tall and has a base that is just under 4 inches wide and weighs 3.5 ounces.
How do the Energy Rods work?
The Energy Rod Sensors monitor surrounding levels of electromagnetic and static energy. The rods will light up when changes in the energy fields are observed. The colors emitted and brightness will increase with intensity when higher energy levels are observed.
Uses of the Energy Rod
The rod acts as a visual beacon when a change in the surrounding energy fields are observed. Walking by the unit or waving a hand in front in front of the Energy Rod will trigger the light to go off. For paranormal investigations we recommend placing the unit in an area away from foot traffic to prevent triggering the sensors inadvertently.
Background and Further Details on the Energy Sensor Rods:
A larger array version of the Energy Rods were featured on Ghost Adventures in Season 10 episode 6.
- A write up on the background of the Energy Rod Array we built at Digital Dowsing.
- More information on the episode from the Ghost Adventures crew can be found at The Bell Witch Cave Episode.
There are a few improvements to the rods featured on the GAC episode versus the rods for sale here. The power source on the show was delivered by 9 volt batteries which we have upgraded to re-chargeable internal batteries along with a quick on/off switch. The rod length on the episode was 6FT and difficult to transport (as depicted to the right) and the rods were required to be supported by large special stands. Now the Energy Rod’s base is self supporting and easily portable at a height of 13 inches.
Operation and Charging of the Energy Sensor Rods:
Charge the sensor using the included USB to USB Mini cable. The large end of the USB cable may be connected to any standard sized USB port such as your computer or a phone charger with a removable cable. While charging the small lightening bolt will turn red (depicted to the right). Once the sensor is fully charged the lightening bolt will turn green. The lightening bolt will only be lit during charging and is not lit during normal operation. Charge times may vary but generally 20 to 60 minutes.
Please note that running the device while charging may cause an increase in charge times. If the unit is ON during charging it will regularly flash the light; thus using the device while charging will not be effective for research applications.
When the unit is first turned ON it will initialize for about 10 seconds. During initialization the unit will slowly phase through a few colors and take an initial reading of the energy fields. Afterwards the sensor will remain dark until a change in the energy around the device is detected.
