Season 10 / Episode 5: Ireland’s Celtic Demons, UV Illuminator
We built a special version of our IR strobe for the Ghost Adventures Crew, this version uses Ultraviolet (UV) LEDs in 2 different frequencies of light. The UV Illuminator can be set from full intensity to almost off, allowing the GAC to tailor the light level to their surroundings. The strobe function adds an additional dimension by creating stop motion helping to capture events.
The UV/Strobe has a built in micro controller that uses PWM technology “Pulse Width Modulation” allow the brightness of the LEDs to be controlled.
This device housing is constructed from a 3D printed case and features a laser engraved faceplate.
The UV Illuminator / Strobe took approximately 25 hours to design, build and test.
Please remember to wear appropriate safety goggles when working with UV Light. For more information about Ultraviolet light: Ultraviolet light on Wikipedia
